Milan, October 17, 18 and 19 European Humanist Forum

History: Humanist
Forums began in 1993, with the first World Forum which took place in
Moscow, on October 7, the second in Mexico City in 1994, and the third
in Santiago in 1995.
In the following years, a process of regionalization set in. Large geographic areas, whose inhabitants share a common history, traditions and culture started gaining rising importance in the general context of globalization. A meeting point for people living in these large regions became necessary and that’s how the Humanist Regional Forums began. The first Humanist Forum took place in Lisbon, in November 2006, preceded by meeting in Madrid (1999), Prague (2003) and Budapest (2004). In 2006, the first African Forum and the first Forum for the Asia Pacific Region took place, as well as the first Latin American and European Forums. In 2007, the first North American Forum was held in New York.
